Whether you're looking for a new hobby, a fun challenge, or just want to try something different, this course will teach you the fundamentals of climbing technique, safety practices, and gear usage—no prior experience required.

Led by a certified climbing instructor, you’ll learn both indoor and outdoor basics, from tying knots and belaying to proper movement on the wall. By the end of the course, you'll have the confidence and skills to climb independently or continue your climbing journey with more advanced instruction.

Day 1

Climbing Fundamentals

​

  • Introduction to gear and equipment

  • Basic climbing terminology

  • Fitting harnesses and tying into the rope

  • First climbs on the wall

Belaying & Safety

​

  • Introduction to top-rope climbing

  • Belay devices and how to use them

  • Belaying a partner safely (PBUS technique)

  • Communication commands

  • Partner checks and trust-building

DAY 2

Movement & Technique

​

  • Footwork fundamentals and body positioning

  • Efficient climbing techniques

  • Reading routes and planning your climb

  • Climbing drills and guided practice

  • Introduction to grading systems

Putting It All Together

​

  • Review and reinforce all skills

  • Climbing independently with instructor supervision

  • Introduction to climbing etiquette and gym policies

  • Optional: Outdoor climbing basics and ethics (if conditions permit)

  • Final Q&A and progression advice
