Service Description
This workshop is designed to help climbers and belayers gain confidence in falling and catching falls safely. Whether you're hesitant to fall on lead or want to improve your belaying technique, this session will give you the tools and experience to manage falls with greater safety and confidence. Cancellation Policy
This Booking Policy is issued in accordance with current good practice and guidance from the Adventure Activities Licensing Authority (AALA), the British Mountaineering Council (BMC), and Mountain Training. 1. Booking & Contract Formation A contract between the participant (or booking party) and Above The Crux is formed once: A booking has been accepted, and Payment (full or deposit) has been received All bookings are subject to availability and these terms and conditions. 2. Payment Terms Full payment is required at the time of booking unless otherwise agreed in writing. For courses, private bookings, or multi-day activities, a non-refundable deposit may be required to secure the booking. Any outstanding balance must be paid prior to the activity start date. Above The Crux reserves the right to cancel bookings where payment terms are not met. 3. Cancellations & Participant Withdrawal Cancellations must be made in writing by the booking party. More than 14 days’ notice: Full refund or transfer (minus any non-recoverable costs) 7–14 days’ notice: 50% refund or full credit Less than 7 days’ notice: No refund Non-attendance: Treated as a cancellation with no refund Refunds will not be issued for unused portions of a course or early departure. 4. Changes & Transfers Requests to transfer bookings to alternative dates will be considered at the discretion of Above The Crux and are subject to: Availability Sufficient notice An administration fee where applicable Transfers are not guaranteed. 5. Weather, Environmental Conditions & Operational Decisions Climbing and mountaineering activities are inherently dependent on weather and environmental conditions. In line with AALA, BMC, and Mountain Training guidance: Above The Crux reserves the right to: Change venues or locations Modify objectives or itineraries Substitute activities Cancel or curtail sessions where safety may be compromised Decisions made by instructors are final and based on dynamic risk assessment. Where possible: A suitable alternative or rescheduled date will be offered If no alternative is viable, a partial or full refund/credit may be issued at our discretion 6. Third-Party & Group Bookings The individual making the booking: Accepts these terms on behalf of all participants Is responsible for ensuring all participants are inform 9. Late Arrival Above The Crux reserves the right to: Refuse participation Reduce session time without refund This is in line with duty of care obligations under AALA
